A message from Padre William Thomas
My Name is William and am the priest at Anglican church of Pinjarra/Waroona and I would like to invites all your members to the return of the annual of the Bikers Blessing.
There is a history of Biker Blessing here in Western Australia. The first was held in the early 1980s by the Gospel Riders and Motorcycle Riders Association W.A.
The earliest blessing was a simple affair with a short (about 10 minutes) service followed by a game of soccer and a BYO BBQ. These simple services lasted for a couple of years then fell off the clubs’ schedules. About ten years ago there was an attempt to resurrect the blessing but issues surrounding insurance and the lack of a suitable venue made it a no goer.
My dream has always been to resurrect Biker Blessings. As a former president of MRAWA I was instrumental in organising the first blessing. Since being an ordained Anglican priest I had a desire to run a blessing but have not been in a situation to be able follow through.
So here is the plan a blessing will be held at our Dwellingup worship centre on church street just up the road from the Blue Wren Café. We have set Saturday 25th of September at 11am.
To keep with past events, it will be a short (about 10 minutes) service, a time to meet and chat and afterwards to check out the cafes of Dwellingup for a coffee or a meal.

The MRAWA will support the Bikers Blessing but this is a “RIDE UNDER YOUR OWN STEAM”. Get there at 10.45 to get in for a short sharp blessing at 11am.
