Corona Virus

It is great news that the virus appears to be under control, however everyone must remain vigilant for themselves and others. If you are not feeling well, then please self-isolate until you know that the illness is not something more serious. The symptoms of coronavirus can range from mild illness to pneumonia. Some people will recover easily, and others may get very sick very quickly.People with coronavirus may experience:

• Fever
• flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat and fatigue
• shortness of breath.

If you become unwell and think you may have symptoms of coronavirus, seek medical attention.

Rides Calendar

With the easing of group size and border restrictions in Western Australia as of yesterday, we will be able to resume organised rides with the first being next Sunday 24th May. The ride will be advertised on our website and Facebook. Should there be more than 20 people turn up on the day, then we will either stagger the departure of groups or organise multiple destinations depending on available venues. It does mean we will require at least 4 members willing to either be the Lead or be Tail-end-Charlie.Please remember that good hygiene can prevent infection, so practice safe distancing and greet people with a touch of the elbow or a smile and wave.

Meetings

As Western Australia slowly re-opens, we can look forward to getting back a more normal life. Our regular meeting venue is still not available but will hopefully be soon. I will maintain contact with the Victoria Park Hotel, so we can resume our face to face meetings there as soon as possible.

Annual General Meeting

Our constitution allows for a delay of the AGM for three months if circumstances require it. Having said that, I will nominate at this time for July 21st (third Tuesday of the month),  confirmation of the date will be in the June meeting. Many committee members currently hold multiple positions within the MRAWA to keep the organisation running.All committee positions will become vacant so I would urge all members to consider stepping up to help run this great organisation. Nominationforms will be sent to all members in the coming weeks.
