Dear MRAWA Member,The MRAWA Committee provides 21 day notice to all MRAWA members to hold a General Meeting / proposed Special Resolution.The meeting will be held upstairs at the Victoria Park Hotel, 605 Albany Highway in Victoria Park on the 19th October at 7.30pm. Notice of Business A Special Resolution is proposed to adopt the MRAWA amended model rules/constitution pursuant to Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (WA) BackgroundThe MRAWA is now governed by the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (WA) (New Act), which repealed the Associations Incorporation Act 1987 (Old Act)The State Government of Western Australia has drafted a set of model rules / constitution, which now apply to the MRAWA.The New Act provides for associations to review and suitably amend the model rules / constitution by way of special resolution at a general meeting.The special resolution can be passed at an annual general meeting or at an extraordinary / special general meeting unless restricted by the current rules of an association to do soThe MRAWA has amended the model rules / constitution, the MRAWA Committee proposes to members to adopt the amended model rules / constitution by passing the following resolution at the General meeting. Proposed ResolutionThat, pursuant to and in accordance with section 200 of the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (WA), (New Act) the Motorcycle Association of Western Australia Incorporated adopts the amended model rules prescribed under the New Act."
