The Meeting Started promptly at 19.30ATTENDANCE: Dave Wright, Dale & Nic Hill, Donna Anthes, Mick Cooper, Ian Suggett,William Murphy, Chris Pierce, Ainslie Kounis, Steve Fish, Steven West, Stephanie West, TonyCollins, Ray Fitall, Colin Hewitt, Scott Havercroft.APOLOGIES: Joanne Wells, Clive Rawson, Glen and Dee White, Lyn and Roger Jutte, JeffThomas, Sandy Payne.PRESIDENTS REPORT: DaveMotorcycle Safety Week April 23rd -29th$5,000.00 Grant for the event from Road safety Commission (RSC)Launch at the York Motorcycle Festival Sunday April 23rdMRA stand at the festival along with First aid training by Janine NicholasRide skills demonstration at the festival by Dale and Nic Hill from On Yer Bike.Wednesday April 26th ride your Motorbike to Work Day.Saturday April 29thFree Motorcycle Skills Masterclass at MirrabookaSponsored by RSC and city of StirlingAvon Valley Motorcycle Friendly Region (an MRAWA Imitative) will also be launchedat the York Motorcycle Festival.I attended the newly formed Vulnerable Road User Group along with Dale and Nicand the RSC are forming a Motorcycle Safety subcommittee to work on purelymotorcycle and scooter issues. The first meeting of the subcommittee is early May.VICE PRESIDENT REPORT: Dale Working on rider licensing reform.Assessors are inconsistent in their marking of learners during the assessment andwe need a set curriculum for learner riders to be assessed against.Instructors are shortcutting the system by having a Cert 4 in rider training and neverneeding to be reassessed or retested.Non Cert 4 trainers are required to be retested every 3 years.TREASURERS REPORT: AinslieOpening and closing balances have been removed for the public record however arerevealed at the meetings by the Treasurer.EDITOR: Jeff Thomas – not presentWEBSITE and FACEBOOKA big jump in hits on both our website and Facebook this month due to a fewinteresting articles being added. We need to keep this up as it seem to attract newmembers. We now have over 800 on our Facebook.RIDES & EVENTS:We had our breakfast ride to Pemberton on Sunday 12th March, not a big turnout.26th March -Bunnings Sausage Sizzle fund raiser.9th April- Day ride to QuindanningApril 23rd - York Motorcycle Festival and Motorcycle Safety Week launch.SAFETY OFFICER: NicThe Serpentine/ Jarrahdale council have been very quiet recently but we have aRoad User Group meeting with them coming up soon.The Vulnerable Road User Group subcommittee meeting will review the 39 actionsfrom the Governments Motorcycle Safety Strategy Plan.I have contacted a lawyer following a learner rider being left by his assessor duringhis assessment to clarify the Dept. of Transports duty of care in these situations.STOCK: Lyn not presentAinslie is looking to put our merchandising on our website for direct selling.MEMBERSHIP:We now have about 180 members some of whom are not currently financial.Ainslie will contact these members before culling them from our membership list.GENERAL BUSINESS:Crispy from the Ducati Club gave us the rundown of this year’s Numduc Rally andhanded out fliers and registration form. This year there will be two separate areas,one for road registered motorbikes and one for unregistered and trail bikes. Quadbike will not be allowed into the Rally site.Next Meeting 18th April.The meeting finished 20.45pm
