Hi Guys I Hope you are all well and dodging the worst of the winter conditions on your rides. I got back from my ride to Alice Springs a few weeks ago, and I have a great time riding to and around the Northern Territory, if you have not been up that way I can recommend it as a top spot for a motorcycle run.Just a few days after I got back the Numbat Rally was on so I didn’t bother putting my camping gear away. What another great Rally we had once again this year, the weather was clear (except for a good solid fog on the last morning) and all the people I spoke to had a ball doing what we do at motorcycle rallies.For those of you that missed out we have a short video of some of the highlights on our website (3 days squeezed into 5 minutes) thanks to Gary Beilby for a great job on the video. I also want to thank all the volunteers who worked tirelessly at our two busy bee’s and for the 3 days at the rally site, there are too many to mention individually but you know who you are and you have the thanks of all who attended and the Rally Committee for making all and any requests by people at the rally happen just happen with no fuss. I would however like to give a special thank you to the Numbat Rally Committee who have been working on this project for over 12 months and have given up days of their time to make our iconic rally such a huge success.Our AGM is coming up and will be held on 16th July 2014 at Franklin’s Tavern starting at 7.30 sharp. We will have a break between the annual reports and voting for your new committee and at this time we will provide finger food for you. Please consider standing for a position on the MRAWA Committee so we can continue working for all motorcyclists’ safety and rights, nominations are allowed at the AGM if no other nominations have been received by our secretary on the due date. Voting for your new Committee is only allowed for current financial members, but the good news is you can join at the AGM; I will have our credit card facility at the meeting. On a personal note I have been the President and Road Safety/Political Officer for quite a few years now and believe that we need a new person for these positions with fresh ideas to bring new energy and direction to our association, please consider and contact me if you need any more information.That’s about all from me for this issue, so ride carefully, ride well and ride often.
